Piercing hacks & Care instructions

Just got a new piercing?

Always remember to clean your new piercing twice a day with either chlorhexidine or salt water. Soak your piercing in salt water and when using chlorhexidine we recommend using a q-tip.

Trouble sleeping with your newly pierced ear?

We've found it very helpful to use a travel pillow when sleeping or lying down. This minimalizes your ear getting irritated.

Infected or keloid?

We recommend you use a  No-pull piercing disk, which protects the piercing.

Professional Piercer vs. Piercing Gun?

When pierced by a gun you're tissue will be damaged. This leaves your fresh piercing more likely to get infected & irritated. We recommend getting your piercing done professionally. This will ensure that you get a proper piercing which is more accurate, cleaner and done at a proper angle. Do your research and find a professional piercer - they know what they're doing.

Labret

After getting your new piercing by a professional piercer, remember to use proper piercing jewelry - such as a labret. Piercing guns use jewelry with butterfly backs, which easily harbor bacteria and cause discomfort.

A labret is a flat item of piercing jewelry which has a lot of advantages:

· It's easier to clean.

· It's more comfortable - especially when lying down.

· Minimal entanglement in hair, masks, glasses etc.

REMEMBER: We are not professional piercers and these are just our personal tips. Every healing process is different, and therefore requires different treatment.

Jewelry Care

Our gold plated jewelry is made of metal such as sterling silver, brass & stainless steel with a thin coat of gold. In the natural process of a plated item the layer of gold will slowly tarnish over time - that goes for all plated jewelry. Be aware that sterling silver will oxidize over time. These natural processes are not considered a product defect.

If you want to make your jewelry shine longer - it's actually very simple:

· Make it a habit to take off your jewelry when you shower, sleep & workout.

· Avoid contact with perfume, oil, water and lotion.
